Kim reached out one day with a simple but heartfelt request: she wanted a photoshoot with her dog, her devoted companion. It was clear from the start just how deep their bond ran. They were partners in every sense—inseparable, side by side through daily walks, quiet mornings, and the unspoken comfort only a loyal friend can bring. Kim knew that these moments, precious and fleeting, deserved to be preserved. Time is never still, but in these photos, she wanted to etch into history the love and companionship they shared.

As I watched them, I saw their connection in every movement. Her dog, with his soft, loyal gaze, followed her every step, and when off the leash, he never strayed far. He didn't need the command to stay close; his devotion to her was enough to keep him grounded. Kim reassured me with a laugh, "He's too attached to ever leave my side."

Though Kim’s life is full—she’s a wife, a mother, and a grandmother with a family she adores—her bond with her dog holds a special place in her heart. This is a love that needed to be celebrated, captured, and held still in time. Together on the quiet shore, with only the sound of waves and the gentle breeze, we crafted images that will tell their story long after this season of their lives has passed. In these photographs, the love between Kim and her loyal companion is forever written into her story.

Watching these boys grow up has been a joy beyond words. From our first session to today, they’ve been a whirlwind of energy, wrestling, and laughter—but when the camera comes out, the boys are a bit shy. It takes some jokes (that they hopefully find funny!) and a little digging to pull out those golden smiles and spark their personalities. And every time, it’s worth it to capture the spirit that makes them who they are.
